In a dark hallway corner, light streams through a small glass window.Following the light leads to a waiting blue sky.
Through the Hoyeoncyclopedia (2017~) Kang has been reestablishing his relationship with "things already known" by reconstructing an encyclopedia.
In this exhibition, rather than defining the essence of an object within existing norms, he focuses on how it is perceived in life, creating pseudo-nature using everyday objects.
Transformed by the artist's touch and placed in different contexts, these objects generate unprecedented moments through personal memories and senses, both direct and indirect.
Utilizing a washing machine, soapy water, and glass windows, Sunny Side Up Please (2024) evokes the bright sun still shining on a ruined Earth.
