When we earnestly wish for something, we pray in front of candlelight.
Jungki Beak experiments with creating the moment when a wish is realized.
In the installation, ten candle-powered generators encircle an egg incubator placed at the center.
The candlelight, embodying the wish for the birth of new life, generates a small amount of heat, which is converted into electrical energy by the candle generators to power the incubator.
In this process, the dichotomous boundary between the spiritual and the material blurs, and invisible hopes converge to give birth to new life.
Can the wish imbued in the candlelight actually bring a chick to life?
